Large & Small Magellanic Clouds & 47Tuc Over Blanco Telescope Dome
From left to right - the bright star is Canopus, then the Large Magellanic Cloud, the Small Magellanic Cloud and the globular star cluster 47Tucanea. 47Tuc has a total mass of about 700,000 solar masses and contains at wide variety of star types. It's about 17,000 LY from Earth, and exists on the fringes of our Milky Way Galaxy. It's the second larges globular cluster in the night sky, behind Alpha Centauri.
