Grant Park - Mid-Afternoon

Technically I wasn't supposed to be allowed into the park. So when I arrived at the northwest corner entrance of the park at Columbus & Monroe I went straight to the LT in the white shirt (not pictured here). I asked him if it was OK for me to enter the park at this point, he looked at my "professional" camera, and said, "sure." From that point I started to make my way to the south end of the park where Obama would give his acceptance speech. I made it halfway there - to Buckingham Fountain - when I was stopped by a different set of police asking to see my credentials. I played very dumb (just act natural, right?). I told them a nice LT in a white shirt let me in at the NW end of the park. They told me in no uncertain terms to "get the fuck out" (their words). Almost made it to the speech - instead I had to hang with the common folks ;-)
